Railyard Process Workflow
AC2 works with each customer to arrive at the best workflow process for your facility. The TPRail mobile application, in conjunction with the TPVision Terminal Management System, allows tagging, tracking and sorting of railcar or unit train movements:
a) Transit to the facility
b) Various locations inside the facility
c) Departing from the facility.
Operators call the shots on moving railcars from one process state in the workflow to the next. For instance, once a tank car has moved into the facility it is identified by scanning and marking as arrived. The Operator can then steadily move the tank car through the process until loaded (or unloaded) and then inspected and moved offsite. All actions are time stamped which allows a visual history of the railcar’s movement through the facility.
Managing the Railyard
Railcar AEI Tags are scanned with the TPRail mobile tablet during the various stages of moving through the facility. TPRail allows the operator to “Blue Flag” the track that is in use. TPVision along with TPRail mobile application keep the business informed as to the state of each tank car and where it is in the process. For example, a railcar may be placed on a holding track before moving into position for loading/unloading.
TPRail assists the operator with managing the rail car inspection process. When loading or unloading rail, the tank car lineup positions may be important in managing automated measurement equipment to move product into and out of inventory storage. TPRail assists the operator and the business in managing and maintaining an audit history of these processes.
Unloading Rail Cars
TPRail provides the operator with all the necessary steps before railcar unloading authorization is provided. The first step occurs once the rail car is “checked-In”. This is where the yard operator will use the TPRail mobile tablet to record the seals and enter the tank car level gauge, density and temperature values for validation. Unloading volumes may be recorded several different ways including metered volume, outage table gauge value or source ticket value.
Simple to Setup and Simple to Use
TPVisionTM provides easy to use database screens that provide you with just the right amount of verification and validation your business needs to manage the logistics of moving product in your facility. TPVisionTM screens are set up in easy to use data grids forms similar to familiar Microsoft Excel.
Loading Rail Cars
The TPRail Mobile application provides the operator with all the necessary steps before railcar loading authorization is provided. The rail car loading may use automated metering or simple product filling. The TPRail Mobile device guides the operator through the loading process whether a metered or a non-metered process.
Inspection (Dual Verification)
The TPRail Mobile application walks the operator through the pre and post railcar inspection process. It also includes the ability to mark those inspection points that require “Dual Verification”. With Dual verification TPRail will require a second operator to log in and sign the form as the primary operator.
